The pitch at Odsal will be looking pristine this season thanks to a donation from BullBuilder that has paid for a brand new tractor. Head of Youth John Bastian explained: “Our old tractor was worn out and needed replacing and Bulls Stadium Manager Mark Leadbeater did a great job in finding a new model. This came at a competitive price from Frank Archibald at AA Mowers. BullBuilder then made its purchase possible with a sizeable donation from their members.” “The pitch at Odsal is used by both first team, youth teams and for training. Having the tractor will make upkeep easier through the wetter winter months and mean we have a good surface throughout the summer. It will also serve as a backup tractor for keeping training pitches in order at Tong.” BullBuilder chairman Paul Butterworth commented: “The tractor is a significant investment but one that will have a huge positive effect. A good playing surface makes all the difference to players.” BullBuilder has contributed funds to replace the physiotherapy room floor with a brand new medical vinyl surface. John Bastian said: “Mark Leadbeater’s team have done a superb job on renovating the whole training base in the close season. The entire complex has been refurbished with painting and decorating taking place throughout, including the shower areas. A company also came in and took up the old flooring in the physio room and put down a new surface. It now looks very professional and ensures there is a clean environment for players that are receiving treatment. It’s made a huge difference.” “BullBuilder also paid for new matting in the gym and new tackle bags and shields. All these contributions make a big difference and I’d like to thank BullBuilder and their members for their great support. It’s really appreciated by the players and staff.” Paul Butterworth said “BullBuilder has received some great support from its members this year and it’s enabled us to continue to help the club’s youth development in a number of ways. I’d like to thank our members for their wonderful support. It’s making a real difference.” As pre-season training is now in full swing John Bastian gave an update on progress: “The players know what we expect from them now. The U19s and U16s are responding and we’re in a good place as far as playing ability is concerned and we continue to be on the lookout for new talent. Everyone is working hard to meet the very high standards we set at the club. In any sporting environment the strong willed and minded will progress but some will fall by the wayside.” To find out more about BullBuilder and how to join for as little as £10 a year please visit www.Bullbuilder.co.uk PICTURE BELOW SHOWS BULLBUILDER CHAIRMAN PAUL BUTTERWORTH RECEIVIING KEYS FROM FRANK ARCHIBALD FROM AA MOWERS. BullBuilder has received a donation of Player Shirts. These were “spare game day shirts” to be used if the shirt the player was wearing was damaged. These shirts are on ebay, search ebay "Bradford Bulls Player Shirts" All money raised goes to BullBuilder who raise funds to provide support for the Bulls Academy – both in physical items, and in providing activities and other support – on top of what the club provides. Here are some examples:
Bradford Bulls Supporters Trust BullBuilder helped get Academy pre-season under way with a bang last week thanks to them financing a special training day in Bridlington. The trip included special conditioning and skills training on the beach which was overseen by the Bulls youth coaches and BullBuilder Board members. Changing facilities were kindly provided by Bridlington RUFC. BullBuilder also paid for a post training meal for all the players and staff. BullBuilder chairman Paul Butterworth said “I was so impressed with all the skills I witnessed at Bridlington. I feel very privileged to have not only seen the skills of players but those of you very talented hard working people.” Bulls Head of Youth John Bastian said “The day was a very productive and enjoyable change. The players were really put through some tough conditioning mixed in with ball skills and all after a busy week’s training at Tong. We were proud of not only the attitude shown on the day but the way the players conducted themselves at Bridlington. These are the standards we expect at Bradford Bulls. I’d like to give my thanks to BullBuilder for helping to make the day possible, their support is superb.” To find out more about BullBuilder and how to join for as little as £10 a year please visit www.Bullbuilder.co.uk
Thanks to BullBuilder members and supporters, BullBuilder are able to make a positive contribution to the Academy pre season plans. This includes taking Academy players to Bridlington South Shore Beach for skills training and conditioning on the 11th November 2017, training on the seafront, on sand and then showering and eating at Bridlington RUFC, who have kindly facilitated the Bulls Academy. John Bastian and Leigh Beattie are looking forward to the players experiencing a different environment as part of the "Planning for Success Plan" We are hoping to try and provide live updates on Saturday via BullBuilder's Twitter and Facebook pages.
Following the sad news of the passing of lifelong supporter and Bulls staff member Paul Fisher, BullBuilder would like to pay this tribute. Paul was an enthusiastic and dedicated BullBuilder committee member for many years who helped to get BullBuilder up and running and performed the role of secretary. He put many hours of his own time and always maintained a positive and inspirational outlook. He provided loyal support to all members of the BullBuilder committee and was an integral and steadfast member of the team. Whether it was his passionate commitment to player welfare, or the development of youth players, he had a selflessness and professionalism that meant if he did something it was always done well. Paul’s kind and wholehearted presence will be deeply missed. Our sincere condolences go to Paul’s wife and family.

The annual BullBuilder young player of the year awards sponsored by GTL Car Spares were also presented. The awards cover not only U16 and U19 players of the year but also an Academic Achievement Award. BullBuilder chairman Paul Butterworth said: “It’s great to celebrate the achievements of the young players coming through the system and give them something to recognise their efforts. The club has produced some excellent young players and that will continue thanks to our thriving youth set up. BullBuilder will continue to provide its backing and has raised more money than ever this year thanks to members and supporters.” The winner of the 2017 BullBuilder Academic Achievement Award goes to Lochlan McGill, award presented by Andrew Chalmers. Lochlan is a hooker from Stanningley who is in his 1st year of the scholarship. Head of Youth John Bastian said: “Lochlan has worked so hard to improve his academic standards this year and the staff are delighted with his progress with his BTEC. He’s shown a real resilience in completing his work and should be really proud of his achievement this year.” The winner of the BullBuilder U16 Player of the Year is Anesu Mudoti , award presented by Jon Hamer and Karl Fairbank. Anesu is a prop from Hunslet Warriors. John Bastian said “Anesu has made significant improvements over the past 2 years. He’s got a wonderful attitude and is always working hard to improve himself which made him stand out in the group. He enjoys work and wants to do well in the game. He’s also done well at his school Temple Moor and is staying on in the 6th form there so will be a part time professional with the Bulls.” The winner of the BullBuilder U19 Player of the Year is Evan Hodgson, award presented by Jon Hamer and Karl Fairbank . Evan is already familiar to supporters of the first team since he’s already made his debut. A prop or second row from Stanningley John Bastian said “Evan has a good work ethic and rugby brain and still has a lot of improvement in him if he keeps putting in the effort. He just wants to play and will be sure to figure more in the first team as he progresses. He too has completed his BTEC this year and is a deserving winner of the U19 player of the year award. BullBuilder’s U19s player of the month for July is Rowan Milnes Rowan is from Siddal and has starred for the U19s this year in both the stand off and centre positions. Highlights for Rowan this season came in the form of try scoring performances in the win over Wakefield at Odsal and versus Castleford. Head of Youth John Bastian said “Rowan’s done well this year and he’s played well in his preferred position of stand off and in the centres where he’s developed his skills. He’s a fine young man with a lot of athletic and rugby development left in him. He’s got a lot of enthusiasm and energy and really wants to do well and improve. Leigh Beattie has done a lot of great work with the U19 players and Rowan has responded particularly well. He’s great to work with and has the fundamental skills he needs in order to go on from here. He’s also a smart kid who has also done well academically this year completing his BTEC.” Rowan will be beginning his second full season with the Bulls in 2018 and is expected to figure strongly for the U19s.
