BullBuilder U19’s Player of Month

BullBuilder’s U19s player of the month for May is Reiss Butterworth.

Reiss is a hooker from Sharlston who has starred for the U19s this year and earned a first team debut in the Challenge Cup versus Featherstone.  He also figured prominently in pre season games notably when he threw an amazing pass through his legs to lay on a try for Ross Oakes at Huddersfield.

Head of Youth John Bastian said “Reiss came to us from Sharston.  He joined as a halfback but has developed into a great prospect at hooker.   He’s now in his second year with us and has done really well and is learning his trade.  He’ll likely be around the first team more as the season goes on and in 2018.”

“Reiss is a very focussed young man.   He’s been supported well by his parents Jeannette and Tony.  He’s always challenging himself to be a better player and is a feisty character and a good communicator which you need to be a good hooker.   He’s dedicated and switched on away from the field too and recognises the need to lead the right lifestyle.  This award recognises his progress.”

BullBuilder are holding a sponsored walk on 16 July where participants will walk from Odsal to Batley for the Bulls league match.   In a repeat of the great effort by Bulls fans last season in the “Dewsbury Dawdle” this year BullBuilder is hoping to beat last year’s total of around £2000.  All funds will go to BullBuilder.   Recently BullBuilder has funded a new sports analysis system which allows the coaching staff to research team and individual performance, review opposition, analyse statistics from games and training to improve skills and technique and minimise injury.   It also links to education and development.
